Staff and volunteers will guide you through the park, which makes this hike perfect for those just getting acquainted with the park, and those who have been hiking there for years. This is a Tools to Trek program. All ages.

Let’s get together to read a story! We will act out the plot with active games, sing songs with sensory themes and take short hikes in the park — sparking a love of nature in our youngest community members! This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion.

Turkey Trek

We need your help for this Thanksgiving adventure. Follow the clues along the routes and help us find the turkeys during an interactive walk or hike! There are two options for your quest, a one-mile paved/limestone walk or a 3.1-mile (5k) adventure hike. For either trek you complete, there will be a fun Thanksgiving-themed prize! All ages.

Preschool Nature Series: Owl Adaptations

The animals at Bill Yeck Park are requesting assistance with some strange goings-on. The flying squirrels have discovered that their winter cache has been completely depleted. Hike along the trail, interview suspects and search for clues to see if you arrive at the answer to this mystery. Staggered start times. Recommended for families with children ages 6 and up.

A Walk in the Park

Enjoy sunshine and fresh air while meeting other walking enthusiasts. These are self-guided walks around your community parks! Walking helps maintain a healthy weight, increases energy, lifts your spirits, strengthens memory and protects from heart disease and high blood pressure.

Do You Want to Paint a Yeti?

Pick up yeti: Friday, December 2 – Friday, December 9
Return finished yeti: Friday, December 16 – Wednesday, December 21

Paint your yeti to camouflage into a park scene and turn in their name and why they chose to hide at that spot! Prizes will be awarded for the most popular designs! Yetis will be turned in and featured in our Scavenger Hunt. Winners of the painting contest will be announced on February 22.

Trail Trekking Fri with Nordic Poles Rental

Enjoy a candlelit stroll through Bill Yeck Park. There will be a half-mile paved route or a longer, one-mile route along the purple trail. Warm up by the fire and enjoy the sounds of the season with carols from Centerville High School’s symphonic choir! Free hot chocolate while supplies last!

Early Adventures

All ages

Getting outdoors makes us happy and healthy, especially in the wintertime! Participants will join the instructor for a brief nature lesson before the group starts the hike to explore the park. This is a Tools to Trek program. Individuals attending three or more hikes will get a themed patch. This hike takes place on a natural path.

Participants can register up to the start of the program.
