Welcome fall by decorating the path around the park with fall-themed chalk designs! Stencils and chalk are provided along with additional activities for families.
Registration is requested for planning purposes. Registered participants will receive a cancellation email in the event of inclement weather.
Art & Imagination
Ages 6 – 8
This drop-off program is designed to give your child the opportunity to get creative! They will design a variety of projects based on a monthly theme. Outdoor activities will be included when weather permits. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.

Spooky Sweatshirts
Ages 16 and up
Use household supplies to create a one-of-a-kind spooky sweatshirt, perfect for the chilly weather. This class will cover the basics of bleach painting before we create our own crewneck sweatshirt. Please select if you would like to add on a crewneck sweatshirt. You are also welcome to bring your own items to be bleached as long as they are a dark color.

Conservation Crew: Seed Collection Hike
Ages 12 – 18
In addition to collecting late-blooming flower seeds from the Seed Nursery, we will hit the trails and look for other seeds ready to be collected. Participants are welcome to take some seeds home to plant in their gardens.

Creative Crafting
Ages 9 – 13
Try new art skills during this fun crafting program based on nature themes. Each session will have different options for participants to choose from and allow them to work independently or get creative together!

Halloween Hop & Howl: B
All ages
Put on your Halloween best and join us for a festive stroll for preschoolers and their families around Forest Field Park. Themed signs will be placed along the path to get kids moving and grooving as they collect goodies at various stations. Families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the Halloween spirit. The first 100 participants will receive tickets for free Kona Ice, sponsored by Tammy Zell of the Sasser Group/KW Advisors Realty! Note: Kona Ice is weather dependent. This is a “teal pumpkin” event — all treats will be allergy-friendly. Please bring your own bag to collect treats! This event is in partnership with the South Metro Optimist Club of Centerville.

Stemily Studios: Bat’s Amazing!
Ages 8 – 14
October’s class focuses on awesome creatures — bats! We’ll learn about how they are an important part of our ecosystem and create a slingshot to launch our own mini bats!

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Light Hike: Reptiles
Recommended for ages 8 and up
Drop in anytime from 7 – 8 p.m. for a lighted hike! In addition to the lights on the paved path, there will be fun reptile facts to light up with a black light. Bring your own flashlight. Black light flashlights will be available to borrow. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Birdwatching Walk
Ages 18 and up
Join avid birdwatcher John Kennard on a walk focusing on bird identification. Bring binoculars if you have them; a limited supply will be available to borrow. Hike is on a natural path.

Truck or Treat
All ages
A fall family favorite! Visit vehicles from our community partners and collect treats and giveaways! Honk a fire truck horn, shift tractor gears, push buttons in the law enforcement vehicles and much more! Kona Ice and Travelin’ Toms Coffee Truck refreshments will be available for purchase, weather permitting.
Registration is not required. Please note: allergens will be present in some giveaways.
Spider Search
All ages
Spiders are so cool! Learn the basic characteristics of spiders before searching for these 8-legged ecosystem rock stars! Containers and identification guides provided. This is a Tools to Trek program.

Join instructor Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling to spooky up your snacks! Turn a snack tray with a variety of healthy bites and treats into a fun Halloween-themed tray! Please note: all major food allergens could be present in this class

Fall About Archery – Family Battles
Ages 8 and up
Looking for some family-friendly competition? We will learn the basics of archery and will use the skills you learn in a friendly competition against your own family. Please register just one family member. Maximum four people per family. All equipment is provided.

Fall About Archery – Adult Archery
Ages 16 and up
This program is for beginners interested in learning archery! By the end of this program, you’ll be shooting on your own, playing games and increasing your confidence as an archer. Each group can have up to 4 people. This program is perfect for couples, friend groups, co-workers, siblings and more! One registration per group. Must be 16 or older to join.
