Huffman Park was donated in 1974 by the children of Horace, Sr. and Mary Reynolds Huffman in memory of their parents.

In 1975, the Park Board president stated the park is to “remain in its natural state.” The park is to serve as open green space providing wildlife habitat amidst suburban development.
