CENTERVILLE, OH: The Centerville-Washington Park District is offering two opportunities in February for new and experienced birders! A two-hour winter birding workshop will be held Saturday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bill Yeck Park Smith House, 2230 E. Centerville Station Road. The first hour will be held indoors and will focus on bird identification and common winter birds in Ohio. The second hour will be spent walking the trails in search of birds. The birding workshop is $9 per Centerville/Washington Township residents or $12 per nonresident. Preregistration is required by Thursday, February 7.

The following Saturday, February 16 there will be a 90-minute winter birding walk at Grant Park, 501 Normandy Ridge Road. The walk begins at 10 a.m. and is free for Centerville/Washington Township residents or $4 per nonresident. Preregistration is required by Friday, February 15 at 4:30 p.m. Both opportunities are appropriate for ages 14 and up.
