Stir together flour, baking soda, spices, and salt and set aside. In a small bowl, beat together canola oil, brown sugar, and eggs. Add molasses and beat until smooth. Stir in buttermilk. Add dry ingredients and combine well. Pour into greased 9” x 9” glass baking pan and bake for 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, or until toothpick or knife inserted into center of cake comes out clean. Cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into 12 squares.
