Volunteers
What do volunteers like about volunteering?
|
“What I like most about volunteering is the more I give of my
time, the more rewarding the experience becomes for me - I only wish
I had more time to give” - Joe
“I find it extremely refreshing to
participate in CWPD activities where the
enthusiasm and support by the staff, volunteers,
and participants is focused on making each
program successful” - Dave
“I’m in my 60’s but working with the kids has
kept me young-at-heart. So I guess that makes me
about 15. The children have no preexisting
expectations from you. They are in awe of all
that is new to them” - Judith “Helping to sustain and improve the park system. There are very few
communities our size that support 50 parks. Most places I have lived
the drive was to create paved space and not green space. Getting
kids outdoors. As the number of fields and woods decrease it becomes
harder for kids to just get lost in the woods, in a good way. We
have to do all we can to encourage kids and adults to be outside and
to be active.” - Raymond
“Volunteering for the CWPD is a
great way to connect with the community. The kids, moms, dads,
grandparents are always so supportive. I think everyone, including
me, goes home with a new appreciation for nature” - Vicki
