This wetland, along with the wetland north of this location, creates a larger network of important habitat for migratory birds, amphibians, reptiles and aquatic mammals, as well as native wetland plant species.

The Nature Nook includes a meeting room, kitchenette, restrooms, fireplace, deck overlooking the meadow, 
window on wildlife, and storage.
