Centerville-Washington Park District Pledges to GetUp!

Centerville-Washington Park District has joined an exciting new community-wide initiative aimed at helping kids and families live healthier. GetUp Montgomery County is a community-wide, healthy lifestyles initiative for kids and families. It is about driving a culture change in Montgomery County where community partners make it easier for kids and families to live a healthy lifestyle.

GetUp Montgomery CountyGetUp Montgomery County uses a healthy lifestyles “prescription,” known as 5-2-1-Almost None, to provide the call to action aimed at addressing the results of today’s unhealthy lifestyles. The Rx is simple: Get five fruits and vegetables a day, less than two hours of leisure screen time (meaning video games and TV), get one hour of active play every day (even if 15 minutes at a time) and drink Almost No sugary beverages.

GetUp is also about driving a culture change that will help our community begin to positively impact the health of kids and families today … and tomorrow. Centerville-Washington Park District is very excited to be among the first partners in this important effort.
