Nature Preserves

The Park District manages several parks as natural areas with limited development. These forests, meadows, prairies, wetlands, and meandering streams provide an excellent outdoor classroom. Natural areas protect wildlife and offer us an opportunity to learn about natural history and our cultural heritage.
