Native wildflowers are growing over the path at Oak Creek South. We will dig them up and prepare to transplant them at another park.

Pickleball League Mixed Doubles Intermediate+ A

Tuesdays, April 9 – May 7
Join a Park District pickleball league and play pickleball in the parks this spring! All leagues are 5 weeks long. Five Franklin X-40 pickleballs per team are included and can be picked up from Park District Headquarters prior to league play. This for-fun league is open to mixed doubles teams at the intermediate level or higher. Please note, this is a league designed for players with a strong understanding of pickleball rules, and that are at an intermediate or higher level of competition. No instruction/lessons are included in the league.

Hike with a Naturalist
Ages 18 and up
Join us on a stroll through your park! A naturalist will point out seasonal changes and discuss the wildlife we observe. Hike is on a natural path.

Pollinators and Flowers Colorful Fun Run
All ages
Learn about pollinators and their favorite native flowers while you stop by stations with color powder! Visit all the stations to get all the colors and finish the 3rd annual colorful fun run! This will be a one-mile course with a 100-meter dash option for ages 10 and under. This is a Tools to Trek Program.

Learn all about kombucha’s health benefits and how to make it yourself! Join Holistic Health Coach Michelle Daniel of The Lifestyle Technique as you walk through the basics of kombucha, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

Ages 6 – 10
Celebrate spring with a tasty treat and join instructor Katie Blauser from Eat Pretty Darling to bake sugar cookies. Decorate them to look like flowers!

Strollers in Motion B
Adult caregivers with child 6 weeks – Pre K
Mondays, April 15 – May 13
Strollers in Motion is a stroller-based workout for moms, dads or other caregivers. After some classes, special activities will be planned for the children! Strollers in Motion is led by Casie Boebinger. In the event of inclement weather or freezing conditions, the program will move inside the community room. For days with above-freezing temperatures, be prepared for short periods of outdoor activity.
Crafts with Nature
Ages 18 months – 4 years with adult companion
We will complete crafts with sensory themes and take short hikes in the park — sparking a love of nature in our youngest community members! This program is limited to one adult companion per registrant. Backpacks and front carriers are appropriate if your child is not walking. Strollers are not recommended at parks with natural terrain. The Crafts with Nature April programs are identical, please only select one.

Gentle Yoga B
Ages 18 and up
Tuesdays, April 16 – May 21
Join us for a gentler, more adaptable yoga program. This class will feature additional guidance, modifications and props to assist in supporting postures and a slower pace. Taught by certified yoga instructor Kathleen Crosby. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Beaded Jewelry
Ages 13 – 17
This hands-on program will allow participants to create jewelry using a variety of techniques and supplies — including necklaces, bracelets and more. No previous experience of any kind is needed to participate in this program.
