Board of Park Commissioners

The Park District is governed by a three-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Court of Common Pleas. Each member serves, without pay, for a three-year term. The Board generally meets the second Monday of each month at the Grant Park Nature Nook, 6588 McEwen Road. The 7:00 P.M. regular meetings are preceded by a  work session at 6:00 P.M. Check this site for changes to the regular meeting schedule.

Any citizen speaking before the Board must give his name and address and sign the registry. This will allow the secretary to properly record all comments. For more information, or if you are in need of special accommodations, please call the Park District Headquarters at 433-5155.

Shelter Reservations

Picnic shelters at Forest Field, Yankee, and Schoolhouse Parks are available for group reservations. The shelters seat approximately 60 -75 people. Grills and water are available at all three shelters. Restrooms and electricity are available at Schoolhouse and Yankee Parks. Portable restrooms are available at Forest Field Park. Larger groups cannot be accommodated due to parking limitations.

The picnic shelter at the Activity Center Park is available for reservation for groups up to 30 people only. Restrooms and electricity are available. The sprayground and playground areas cannot be reserved and are open to the public during daylight hours.
